We've tried to keep delivery costs as simple as possible without inflating our prices to allow for free delivery.
Note: I'm playing around with delivery charges following my experience so far, and some feedback from customers.

1. Christmas delivery?
The last day for Christmas deliveries within the UK is Tuesday 20th December. For smaller orders (1kg or less), we could post on the 21st (Royal Mails recommended last day). For more information see this page.
2. How much is UK delivery?
Free for orders over £50. £4 for orders under £50.
The delivery costs cover the postage of your order, plus a small amount to cover boxes and bubble wrap. I've found I use quite a lot of bubble wrap - as I want your items to arrive in the same condition they leave.
I use either Royal Mail or Parcel Force. Which will depend on the overall weight and size of your order.
Where possible I'll despatch orders within 1 to 3 days of receiving them, but since this web site is run by one person (me) there can sometimes be delays during busy periods or holidays.
If you need something quick - let me know!
3. How much is International delivery?
My International delivery rates are as follows:
|Gibraltar, Ireland, Belgium, France, Germany, Netherlands||£15|
|Austria, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Poland, Portugal, Luxembourg, Slovakia||£20|
|USA, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Norway, Switzerland||£25|
|Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore,
|India, Malta, South Africa, Uruguay, UAE||£45|
I'll be tweaking these as we learn more about logistics.
Delivery costs are for 2kg or less - if your order is considerably more, please contact me for costs.
If your country isn't listed and you'd like to place an order - please contact us.
If you're interested but are put off by the fees above, also contact us.
4. Why no free delivery on all orders?
Posting a car that sells for £1.50 would cost just over £3 to post, plus a little extra for the box / packaging. If we accounted for free delivery, the cheap cars would need to cost three times their value, and nobody would ever buy them.
We recently (early May) increased our free delivery threshold because we've found we've been losing money on some delivery. Additionally, 95% of orders were below the threshold anyway.
5. I live in York, can I collect an order?
Sure. Email us (email@example.com) or tweet us (@modelmatic) and we'll send you a discount code for free postage. Once you've ordered, we'll then email you and arrange a suitable collection date/time.
6. I'm visiting York, can I collect an order?
Sure. Email us (firstname.lastname@example.org) or tweet us (@modelmatic) and tell us when you're visiting. Assuming we're around, we'll send you a discount code for free postage. We're based right in the middle of the city, on the famous Shambles.
7. How are items packaged?
We package things well to avoid damage. When possible we'll use recycled materials, but this is becoming increasingly difficult as orders grow.
