Modelmatic has been set up by Jon Irvine, owner of a web design agency and father of three kids.

Why I started it

For a few reasons:

1. I found it difficult finding a good range of new diecast stuff for my eldest (pictured) when he showed an interest, and wanted to make it easier for others.
2. Scale matters to me - you'll notice most items work well together (Yes, I know kids don't care).
3. I'm using it to get experience of sitting on the other side of the table: learning more about marketing (SEO, pay per click, Facebook ads, etc), different e-commerce technologies (Shopify, Lemonstand, Stripe, etc) and day to day running (Fulfilment, logistics, importing, etc).

What I'm selling

I'm researching, stocking and selling a range of diecast vehicles and accessories at 1:64 (or as close as possible) scale, that all work well together. As I said above, scale matters to me, but I'm also putting everything under a single roof.

Where I'm located

I'm running this from a unit in York. I used to be based on Shambles, York - but the two flights of stairs were making everything take twice as long!
